Son Alarde

 

Son Alarde is a project founded ten years ago by several Cuban musicians who live in Europe and share a passion for traditional Cuban dance music (“Son”).

The members of Son Alarde also play and record with many other bands (Gloria Estefan, Afro Cuban All Stars, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Grand Mother’s Funck, NY Salsa All Stars, Arturo Sandoval, Mercado Negro, Akil the MC,  Tito Nieves, Lariba, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Picason. What makes this group unique is that its musicians incorporate flavors of all these styles (Jazz, Funk, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Afrocuban) into the genuine traditional Son they inherited from their grandfathers. The result is an explosive mix:

 

Highly danceable authentic Son Cubano, spiced up with modern arrangements and an extra dose of Afrocuban rhythm.
Think funkified "Buena Vista Social Club".

 

The band is renowned for its energetic stage presence, enthusiastic participation of the public and its impromptu improvisations.


Has been demonstrated to cure even severe cases of chorophobia.
